The connecting cable is CAT 5 and the maximum distance from the intercom to the keypad is 100 metres.

Up to 7 Tel-Pads may be connected to a Hub to provide an access control system with remote programming and remote activity log download.

The keypad can be backlit in 7 different colours to suit the majority of preferences, these are; red, white, blue, cyan, green, yellow and purple.

A stainless steel plate is fixed to a vertical surface and the keypad fixes to the top of the plate via a locater tab and then is secured at the bottom of the plate by a security screw through the lower return.

Alternatively the stainless steel version either uses a surface or flush back box.

The TelPad System.

The Tel-Pad is a modular keypad connected to a TelGuard panel or Hub. The keypad is backlit and made from silicon and so is flame and solvent retardant. Tel-Pad has been designed for use as an ingress or egress keypad and the system will hold up to 400 codes.

The keypad enclosure has a low profile of 20 mm and constructed from a billet of aluminium making it very strong. The Tel-Pad is also available with a stainless steel face plate mounted in a surface or flush back box.

The keypad consists of keys 0-9 with * and #, any of these digits can be included in a 4 – 8 digit code. The enclosure also houses 2 x LEDs, the red one is constant when the power is on and the green one illuminates when the relay has activated. When a key is pressed the LED illuminates in white.

The TelPad is either programmed at the keypad or remotely by dialling in to the associated TelGuard panel. The Approved Installer is able to remotely download an activity report showing a list of codes with the time and date actioned.

A user simply makes sure that the red status light is on and then enters their 4 – 8 digit code. As each digit is pressed a confirmation LED will illuminate. If a mistake is made the code is re-entered. The system can be set to lock out after 3 failed attempts for a preset period of time. This does not affect the call ability of the associated intercom panel. The relays are on the intercom panel as the keypad and intercom would normally be operating the same equipment.
